Better Enquiries, Not Just More Clicks
A campaign can generate clicks without creating useful sales conversations. Before increasing your budget, look at what happens between the ad and the first reply to an enquiry.

Start with the customer you want to reach
Write down who the service is for, where you can deliver it, and what makes an enquiry suitable. Your sales team and your marketing team should use the same definition.
An enquiry that is outside your service area or asks for something you do not offer may still count in an advertising dashboard. It should not count as evidence that the campaign is reaching the right customers.
Check the promise from ad to page
Open the ad and follow it on a phone. Does the landing page explain the same offer? Can a visitor see what you do and how to contact you without searching through unrelated information?
- Keep the advertised service clear on the destination page.
- Make contact options easy to find and test them yourself.
- Ask only for the information needed to begin a useful conversation.
Review enquiries alongside campaign spend
Use a simple record of enquiry source, suitability, owner, first response, and next action. Review it alongside the advertising account rather than treating the number of form submissions as the whole result.
If people are suitable but replies are slow, work on follow-up. If replies are timely but enquiries are consistently unsuitable, review targeting, the offer, and the page. These are different problems and need different changes.
Choose one useful next change
Changing every part of a campaign at once makes it difficult to understand what helped. Identify the clearest gap, make a focused change, and review both the campaign data and the conversations that follow.
There is no universal lead-cost target or guaranteed return. A useful review accounts for your service, budget, sales process, and the quality of the evidence available.
